Welcome to
JAINTIA NETWORK SOCIETY !

Jaintia Network Society was formed on the 27th of December 2019 at Ladthadlaboh, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District and was registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act XII of 1983 on the 4th of March 2020. It was formed by a group of friends coming from different backgrounds professionally but who shared a common interest in working for sustainable development of communities especially rural communities. The vision of the Society is to create sustainable livelihood and future for the rural people.

At present the organization is under the pre incubation period for 4 years which was started in October 2021 till September 2025 on a project “Sustainable Livelihood development” which was funded by Root to branches, Guwahati Assam Under this project there are various components, one component which is mushroom cultivation.

The Society has conducted six one day programmes. The first programme was Jan Awareness Programme on the occasion of the National Youth Week, on the topic “HIV AIDS and Prevention of Substance Abuse” at Mupliang village, West Jaintia Hills (WJH), District. The second programme “Catch the Rain, where it falls when it falls Programme” was also held at Mupliang Village, WJH, District. The third programme was “Clean and Green Village” which was held at Pynthor Langtien village, WJH District. These three programmes were sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan Jowai. The other Programmes conducted by the society were “Awareness Campaign on Covid-19 and Mask Distribution”, “ Awareness Campaign on the occasion of world AIDS day” these two programmes were conducted with the societies own savings. The fifth programme was Advance Christmas Celebration programme which was a donated programme form some of the members of the Society. In this Programme there was distribution of clothes to the Orphans and the less privilege of Mupliang Village. The last programme was observation days on the occasion of National Service Day and Physical fitness Day. At present Jaintia Network Society have eight members. The headquarter of the organization is at Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District (WJH) of Meghalaya.

  • To Uplift the farming Community especially Women in rural area
  • To help women gaining additional income
  • To help improve health, education in children
  • To change the attitude of the rural people about different social Issue
  • To empower Rural youth through Life Skill Programmes
  • To bring convergence with different line-departments in villages
